Eagle-Tribune - 5/23/2018
May 23--NORTH ANDOVER -- More than 130 athletes competed in the Special Olympics School Day Games Tuesday morning at North Andover High School.
For the past 16 years, North Andover has partnered with Special Olympics of Massachusetts to run the event. This year, Andover special education students participated for the first time, joining North Andover students in the 50-meter dash, tennis ball throw, and standing and running long jumps.
Students from North Andover's Best Buddy program, cheerleading squad, and pep band helped cheer on the participants.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Special Olympics organization. Next year, Andover will host North Andover at Andover High School.
