Smithfield man charged with fondling woman with disability

A Smithfield man was charged for allegedly fondling a woman with Cerebral palsy at a Georges Township home.

A Smithfield man was charged for allegedly fondling a woman with cerebral palsy at a Georges Township home.

James Leslie Sweet, 76, of Sleepy Hollow Road was charged Thursday with aggravated indecent assault of a person with a mental disability and indecent assault of a person with a mental disability.

The Herald-Standard does not identify alleged victims of sexual assault.

Police said the woman is non-verbal and blind.

The woman's caregiver, Wanda Hibbard, reported she saw Sweet fondling the woman under her clothes during a visit to the residence Tuesday.

Sweet is lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $200,000 bond set Thursday afternoon before Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. Shimshock.

In September, Sweet was charged with three counts of indecent assault without consent for an alleged incident in Georges Township August 8. Those charges were dismissed.
