Rochester Center for Children bought new home for $1.23 million

Post-Bulletin - 3/9/2021

Mar. 9—A Med City autism and family therapy clinic — Rochester Center for Children — recently purchased a building for $1.23 million as a new home to expand the practice.

On March 1, RCC Development LLC bought the four-office condo units that make up the 36-year-old building at 1811 Greenview Place SW.

The property was sold by Palladium Properties LLC, Leigh J. Johnson Properties, LLC and Judith H. Johnson Properties, LLC. All three are based in Rochester. Palladium acquired the building from Rochester developer John Klopp in 2003.

RCC Director Jon Sailer said the goal is to move the center from 3640 Ninth Street NW to the new address by the end of March.

"We have been working for many years to expand our space and the services we offer. This is the first step in that process," Sailer wrote. "Primarily, we provide individual and group therapy for children on the autism spectrum. Our goal for the future is to expand our current therapies (in addition to these one-on-one therapies we also provide marriage and family counseling, traditional psychotherapy, telehealth, etc.)."

Founded under the name of Rochester Center for Autism in 2004, RCC has about 40 people on staff.

Sailer said this move will give the staff room to do more.

"We are hoping to provide more support for families, adolescents and adults. We are also looking to expand our services to offer speech and language, occupational and physical therapy, and music therapy," he said. "We are extremely excited for this next step for our business."
