Color-Eye is a video magnifier designed for use by individuals with low vision. It is a hand-sized unit that connects to a television set (not included). Users have a choice of hand-held operation or hands-free use with a flex-arm mount that can be clamped on the edge of a desk or table. This device magnifies in color with positive images only (no color reversal). Magnification ranges from 4.9 to 17 times for a seven-inch TV, nine to 32 times for a 13-inch TV, and 14 to 49 times for a 20-inch TV. It can be focused from less than one inch all the way to infinity. This means that it can be used for shaving, looking down the street, or checking the yard to see what the dog is doing. To change magnification, the user slides the camera up or down in its stand, and to focus, the user turns a lens ring. Because the unit consumes less than a watt of power per hour, there is no on/off switch. WEIGHT: The unit alone weighs eight ounces; with the flex arm and carrying case, the system weighs two pounds.
