The co-chairperson of Special Olympics for Lions District 22-D, Lion Barbara Spence, attended the meeting at the Countrie Eatery on Oct. 25 to discuss what the Special Olympics have been doing and how it effects the community. She brought a Special Olympian, Alex Sklar, who talked about how the Special Olympics has helped him and improved his life. Capitol City Lions President Melvin Nace, on right, presented Lion Barbara a check to help with the great work the Special Olympics does. On Oct. 28, the Capitol City Lions completed a cleanup on Andrews Lake Road. Sevent bags of trash and several larger items were collected.
