The following Special Arts classes are being offered at SLC Arts.
Special Arts
Adults Music & Art Group - Tuesday, Dec. 19, 10:30 to noon; $10 per class.
Join music therapist, Tracy Wanamaker, MT-BC for a fun-filled hour of music making and exploration. This group provides an opportunity for adults with special needs including cognitive disabilities, autism and severe learning disabilities, to participate in a supportive and therapeutic group activity. Group members will be encouraged to participate in a variety of activities including singing, movement, dancing, and playing instruments designed to stimulate the senses, encourage creativity, and increase socialization.
Special Arts
Inclusive Preschool/Early Elementary Music & Arts Class - Tuesday, Dec. 19, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; $10 per class.
This inclusive group for preschoolers and early elementary children with disabilities, their family, and friends, provides an opportunity for music and arts exploration in a supportive group environment. Children are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities including singing, movement, dancing, playing instruments, creating, painting, and other arts exploration designed to stimulate the senses, encourage creativity and increase socialization. Music and Arts programs have a long track record for success in building communication skills, increasing confidence, and improving overall well-being among participants.

Massena Kids/Teens Music & Art - Dec. 20, 4:30 to 6 p.m.; No cost.
Special Arts provides an opportunity for music and arts exploration in a supportive and therapeutic group environment. Group members are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities including singing, movement, dancing, playing instruments, creating, painting, and other arts exploration designed to stimulate the senses, encourage creativity and increase socialization.
Music and Art therapy programs have a long track record for success in building communication skills, increasing confidence, and improving overall well-being among participants.
