Newsome Foundation to hold first fundraiser Saturday

Leominster Champion - 10/13/2017

The Hillary A. (Bartlett) Newsome Foundation was started in memory of a Leominster resident active in the community, Hillary Bartlett Newsome, who passed away in March.

The mission of the foundation is to continue Hillary's work in changing the lives of children with autism, special needs, and life-threatening illnesses by offering hope, courage, and acceptance. It aims to provide long-term financial assistance to children and their families that are affected by autism, special needs, and life threatening illnesses in an effort to enhance their quality of life by inspiring friends of the foundation to help us make a difference.

The foundation will hold its first fundraising event, "Las Vegas in Leominster," on Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Eagles Hall at 456 Litchfield St. in Leominster. Doors open at 6 p.m. Casino games like Roulette, Blackjack and Texas Hold'em will start at 7 p.m. All gambling requires no experience and is done with "play" money just for fun - no cash prizes. There will be a raffle going on, with winners drawn at 10:30 p.m., as well as a photo booth, food and drinks.

Admission is $15 per person in advance, or $20 at the door. Proceeds will benefit Camp Sunshine.
