Heart of Surfing

Surfers turned out Saturday for the Heart of Surfing Contest at 57th Street in Ocean City. The event benefited Heart of Surfing, a nonprofit organization that brings surfing and skateboarding to children with autism and special needs. The contests had divisions for men, women and groms, children 13 and younger.

Booker D. Surfdog and Onyx Shorepound Surfdog, registered service dogs who ride the waves on boards, gave an exhibition and will return to 57th Street Beach from 9 to 11:30 a.m. next Saturday.
