BRIEF: Local residents appointed to state boards

March 02--Gov. Terry Branstad made several appointments Wednesday to boards and commissions in the state.

Terms begin May 1, subject to Senate confirmation. Among the near 250 appointees, three were from southeast Iowa:

--Christine Sprat of Burlington to the Alcoholic Beverages Commission;

--Christine Bowker of Fort Madison to the Autism Council;

--Tom Broeker of Burlington to the Mental Health and Disability Services Commission.
